Start your ride to Zay Cho Market, Mandalay’s oldest and most vibrant market where you can explore bustling stalls filled with local products and traditional foods, soaking in the lively atmosphere to power up your morning. Next, cycle to Mahamuni Pagoda, home to Myanmar’s holiest Buddha image and you can observe pilgrims’ devotion and admire the sacred beauty of this revered site.
We will continue the bike tour to a marble carving workshop to watch artisans skillfully create Buddha images, then visit other local workshops to discover traditional handicrafts, including tapestry and puppet-making. Afterward, enjoy a cozy lunch at a local teashop. In the afternoon, we will visit a gold leaf production house to see how glittering golden leaves are crafted.
Then cycle around Mandalay Fort, a scenic and mostly flat route offering a glimpse of historic life along quiet, leafy roads. From the fort, proceed to Shwenandaw Monastery, an exquisite teakwood monastery originally part of the Golden Palace.
The final stop of the cycling tour will be Kuthodaw Pagoda, famous for housing the world’s largest book on marble tablets. After your visit, cycle back to your hotel, concluding a memorable exploration of Mandalay by bike.
