Overview:
Experience the spiritual and scenic beauty of Southern Myanmar on this immersive 11-day journey combining sacred pilgrimage sites, dramatic limestone landscapes, colonial charm, and relaxing coastal retreat.
Firstly, your tour will be introduced with Yangon, Myanmar’s former capital, where glittering pagodas and colonial-era architecture reflect the country’s rich cultural heritage. Travel to the legendary Golden Rock (Kyaiktiyo Pagoda), one of Myanmar’s most revered pilgrimage sites, dramatically balanced on the edge of a cliff.
Continue to Hpa-An, a charming town surrounded by spectacular karst mountains, caves filled with Buddha images, tranquil lakes, and rural villages that offer an authentic glimpse into local life. Journey onward to Mawlamyine, a peaceful riverside city known for its colonial ambiance, scenic viewpoints, and cultural diversity and Bago, a city steeped in royal history, is home to impressive Buddhist temples, giant Buddha statues, and ancient palace ruins that reflect the rich Mon heritage.
Return to Yangon before heading to the pristine shores of Ngwe Saung Beach, where palm-fringed coastline and the Bay of Bengal provide the perfect setting for relaxation and leisure. Conclude your journey back in Yangon, bringing home unforgettable memories of sacred landmarks, dramatic landscapes, cultural discoveries, and coastal relaxation.
Note: When visiting sacred religious sites, please dress modestly. Shoes and socks must be removed before entering pagodas and temples.
Day 1: Yangon Arrival
Activities: Yangon arrival, Hotel check-in, visit Chauk Htet Kyi Pagoda and Shwe Dagon Pagoda

Welcome to the mystical land of Myanmar, a country adorned with shimmering pagodas and deep-rooted spiritual traditions. Upon arrival, begin your journey with a visit to the remarkable Chauk Htet Kyi Pagoda, famous for its massive reclining Buddha image. After check-in and some time to relax, continue your exploration with a visit to the legendary Shwe Dagon Pagoda, the most revered Buddhist shrine in Myanmar and marvel at its radiant golden stupa, believed to be over 2,500 years old and said to enshrine sacred hair relics of the Buddha, while taking in the tranquil and picturesque atmosphere.
Conclude the day with a relaxing visit to Kandawgyi Lake, where you can enjoy the tranquil surroundings and scenic views. In the evening, savor an exquisite Burmese dinner at Karaweik Palace, beautifully set on the Royal Lake and offering stunning views of the illuminated Shwe Dagon Pagoda. Delight in an enchanting traditional cultural performance as you dine.
Afterwards, transfer back to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Yangon - Kyaiktiyo Pagoda (Golden Rock)
Activities: Drive to Kinpun, visit Kyaiktiyo Pagoda (Golden Rock) by truck
After breakfast, depart Yangon for a scenic four-hour drive to Kinpun, the gateway to Golden Rock. Upon arrival at the base camp, we will transfer to a local open truck for an exhilarating ride along winding mountain roads up to Kyaiktiyo Pagoda (Golden Rock) in Mon State.
Dramatically balanced on the edge of a cliff, Golden Rock is one of Myanmar’s most sacred pilgrimage sites. At the summit, marvel at the extraordinary sight of the gilded boulder seemingly defying gravity. Take your time to observe devoted pilgrims offering prayers and performing traditional rituals, explore nearby shrines such as Kyee Kan Pa Sat and Kyaut Ta Lone Pagoda, or enjoy a gentle stroll along the scenic mountain paths.
The journey itself is part of the adventure, and during sunrise or sunset, the golden stupa radiates brilliantly against the sky, offering sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges — truly one of Myanmar’s most breathtaking and unforgettable experiences.

Day 3: Kyaiktiyo Pagoda (Golden Rock) – Hpa-An
Activities: Drive to Hpa-An, explore the attractions of Mon State
Start the day with a stunning sunrise at Golden Rock (Kyaiktiyo Pagoda), as morning mist and sunlight illuminate the golden boulder perched on the cliff. After freshening up, descend to the base camp and drive to Hpa-An, a charming town on the Thanlwin River and home to the Kayin (Karen) people.
Along the way, immerse yourself in the tranquil countryside and authentic rural life, stopping at Bayin Nyi Cave, known for its natural hot springs, hillside temple complex, and colorful Buddha images. Upon arrival in Hpa-An, we will visit the striking Kyauk Ka Lat Monastery, a limestone column rising from the middle of a lake. Its unique formation and serene surroundings make it one of the most iconic and photographed spots in the region.
Conclude the day with a visit to Shwe Yin Hmyaw Pagoda, located along the Thanlwin River, perfect for a peaceful sunset view. Overnight in Hpa-An.
Remark: The above tourist destinations may be adjusted depending on time availability, either today or on the following day.
Day 4: Hpa-An
Activities: Sightseeing Mount Zwegabin, Sadan Cave and Kawgun Cave
After breakfast at the hotel, begin your day exploring the highlights of Hpa-An, Mon State. We will start the sightseeing with Sadan Cave, a breathtaking limestone cave featuring ancient Buddhist wall carvings and a striking entrance adorned with Buddha statues.
Next, we will visit Kawgun Cave, also known as the “Cave of Ten Thousand Buddhas,” famous for its walls and ceilings covered with thousands of intricate clay Buddha images and Mon inscriptions, as well as well-preserved limestone carvings.
Following the caves, return to Hpa-An town for lunch, then continue with a scenic drive to Mount Zwegabin base. Here, we can take a short walk or enjoy a partial hike, soaking in panoramic views of rice paddies, villages, and the surrounding limestone mountains. Along the way, we will continue exploring local villages to experience authentic rural life.
Return to the hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy leisure time for the rest of the day.
Optional: Hike to the summit of Mount Zwegabin, the highest limestone mountain surrounding Hpa-An, with a round-trip ascent and descent of approximately four hours.
Day 5: Hpa-An - Mawlamyine
Activities: Visit Hpa-An morning market, drive to Mawlamyine and explore the city
Start the day with a visit to the bustling Hpa-An morning market, where you can immerse yourself in the daily life of the locals. Afterwards, enjoy a scenic 2-hour drive to Mawlamyine, the charming tropical capital of Mon State and former administrative center of British Burma. The city is known for its quiet streets lined with colonial-era buildings, vibrant markets, and fresh seafood.
On the way, we will make a stop at Kawhnat Village to visit U Nar Ouk Monastery, renowned for its intricate woodcarvings and unique architecture that blends traditional Mon, Burmese, and colonial styles.
Upon arrival in Mawlamyine, take a short city tour and then we will proceed to the top of the hill to enjoy a breathtaking sunset over the surrounding islands. Overnight in Mawlamyine.
Day 6: Mawlamyine – Thanbyuzayat War Cemetery – Win Sein Taw Ya
Activities: Sightseeing Mawlamyine
Spend a full day exploring the historic city of Mawlamyine. Begin with a visit to the Thanbyuzayat War Cemetery, a tranquil site honoring the more than 3,000 Allied prisoners of war who lost their lives during the construction of the infamous Burma–Siam Railway. If time allows, we will visit the Death Railway Museum to learn more about this historic railway and its wartime significance.
In the afternoon, we drive back toward Mawlamyine city with a stop at Win Sein Taw Ya, home to one of the world’s largest reclining Buddha statues, and capture stunning photos of this monumental landmark. Enjoy scenic views of the Thanlwin River and surrounding countryside along the way.
Conclude the day with a leisurely stroll through the downtown area and the famous night market, soaking in the charming atmosphere of this historic town.
Day 7: Mawlamyine – Bago - Yangon
Activities: Drive to Bago, sightseeing in Bago City, drive back to Yangon
After breakfast in Mawlamyine, embark on a long drive back to Yangon. On the way, we will stop in Bago and begin with Kanbawzathadi Palace, the reconstructed royal residence of the Second Myanmar Empire, where you can admire the grandeur of traditional Mon architecture and gain insight into the history of Myanmar’s kings.
Next, we will visit the majestic Shwemawdaw Pagoda, Bago’s spiritual centerpiece, which towers 114 meters, taller than even Shwe Dagon Pagoda, and can be seen from nearly 10 kilometers away, making it a truly commanding landmark.
Continue the journey to Yangon, transfer back to the hotel and conclude the day.
Day 8: Yangon - Pathein - Ngwe Saung Beach
Activities: Drive to Pathein, relax on the sandy beach of Ngwe Saung
In the morning, we will depart for Ngwe Saung Beach, a scenic coastal retreat in the Ayeyarwady Region. The journey takes approximately 5 hours (about 260 km) by road, passing through Pathein, the gateway town to the region.
Upon arrival, unwind and embrace the laid-back atmosphere of this charming seaside destination. Spend the rest of the day at leisure; relax on the soft white sands, soak up the sun, or enjoy a refreshing swim in the clear blue waters of the Bay of Bengal. Sip on a fresh coconut juice as you take in the tranquil surroundings.
You may also rent a bicycle to explore the peaceful coastline and nearby villages, and in the evening, savor freshly cooked and grilled seafood for a delightful beachside dining experience.
Day 9: Ngwe Saung Beach
Activities: Explore Bird Island with a short trek, snorkel in clear waters, relax on the sandy Ngwe Saung Beach
Begin the day by embracing the fresh sea breeze and tranquil atmosphere of the beach. Take a leisurely morning stroll along the soft white sands and enjoy the gentle waves of the Bay of Bengal.
After a delightful beachside breakfast, set off on a scenic 30-minute boat ride to Bird Island. Upon arrival, enjoy a short 20-minute climb up the rocky hill, where you will be rewarded with panoramic views of the island and its surrounding emerald-blue waters. Continue the adventure with snorkeling in the crystal-clear sea, discovering vibrant marine life beneath the surface.
Return to the hotel for a hearty lunch, then spend the afternoon exploring nearby Lover’s Island or local fishing villages to experience everyday coastal life and browse for souvenirs.

Day 10: Ngwe Saung Beach - Pathein - Yangon
Activities: Drive to Yangon, Yangon City sightseeing
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy some final moments at Ngwe Saung Beach before departing for Yangon. Upon arrival, we will resume the Yangon city sightseeing with a visit to Sule Pagoda, a 2,000-year-old golden stupa in the heart of downtown, reflecting Yangon’s spiritual significance and colonial history.
Take a stroll through the colonial district to Maha Bandula Park, a lively public space, and admire the surrounding landmarks including Yangon City Hall, a beautiful example of traditional Burmese architecture with ornate tiered roofs, as well as the impressive High Court Building and General Post Office, enduring symbols of the city’s colonial past.
Next, visit Bogyoke Market (Scott Market), where bustling lanes showcase gems, handicrafts, textiles, and souvenirs, making it an ideal place to soak up the local culture and find a unique keepsake.
Conclude the day with an evening visit to Yangon’s Chinatown and 19th Street, the city’s vibrant nightlife hub, where you can experience lively street scenes, sample local street food, and immerse yourself in the dynamic atmosphere.
Day 11: Departure
Activities: Leisure time in Yangon, depart
After breakfast, spend some last moments at your own pace before transferring to Yangon International Airport for your onward journey.
